Hue was the imperial capital of the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945. The Complex of Hue Monuments encompasses the Imperial Citadel, royal tombs, pagodas, and temples that stretch along the Perfume River.

History

Founded in 1802 by Emperor Gia Long, Hue served as the seat of the Nguyen emperors for 143 years.
